Week 6

May-4-2010 By Scott

Can you smell summer? I can….

Here are the events for this week!

Tuesday, May 4th
7:46pm  Week 6 Rehearsal–MEET AT RIMAC GREEN ROOM
Maybe this week we won’t get kicked out of the green room! As per the spring quarter tradition, if you have an arrangement you’d like the Pepband to play, bring it in! We’ll take some time to work on it and give it a “yay!” or “nay!” Come hang with your fellow peppers and rock out! Maybe some In-n-Out after?

Saturday, May 8th
10:01am  Transfer Admit Day–MEET AT LIBRARY WALK, BOOKSTORE ENTRANCE
This is the second installation of our two part series: “Admit Days 2010!” We’ll be playing out by the Bookstore to the wandering mobs of prospective transfer students. A fun way to start your weekend! As always, if you play an instrument that currently lives in the closet, meet up at RIMAC at 9:45am to get your instrument!

Too Much Awesome

Apr-19-2010 By Caleb

Great job at Davis everyone! It was a blast and I hope everyone enjoyed it as well. We looked and sounded great this year.

But with Davis over, we return to our regularly scheduled peptivities. This is a late update, but we have a gig tonight for those of you that didn’t get enough playing at Davis! Show up at the bookstore entrance on library walk at 6:01pm to play for Grad Nite.

There’s NO REHEARSAL this week! Enjoy the break.

On Saturday, we’re going to Linda Vista for a parade. We’ve been doing this parade for the past few years and now we’re big stars! A great way to start off your weekend! We’re meeting in RIMAC at the closet at 9am and will be carpooling over there. It’s a fun, short parade!

** UPDATE **

We just had a women’s water polo game added. Come see us kick some SDSU ass this friday! Don’t worry, we’ll be using protection.

Davis!

Apr-14-2010 By Caleb

Davis is this week! Need to know the schedule? Not sure what to bring? Everything you need to know here!

* There are more people coming to Davis than seats on the bus. This means that a van will also be driving up to Davis, and we need 6 volunteers to ride in the van. So far we have three smiling faces on the van!

If no one volunteers we’ll randomly select three more to travel on the van. Volunteer if you don’t mind riding in the van and getting there early! See Caleb for bets on how many hours faster the van will make it there.

Week 2

Apr-5-2010 By Scott

What the heck is going on this week?

Tuesday, April 6th
7:44pm  Week 2 Rehearsal–MEET AT RIMAC GREEN ROOM
Only 2 more rehearsals before Davis! We’ll be learning the famous Picnic Day Intro and cleaning up all of our tunes to win the Battle of the Bands!

Friday, April 9th
6:14pm  Men’s Volleyball vs. UC Irvine–MEET AT RIMAC ARENA
We’re playing our rivals from the North! Come learn how to skin an anteater!

Saturday, April 10th
9:30am  Admit Day–MEET AT LIBRARY WALK, BOOKSTORE ENTRANCE
Thousands of terrified admits wandering around the campus trying to decide if UCSD is the right school for them. We’ll show them it is! Meet on Library Walk near the bookstore (across from Student Health) with your instrument, blue shirt and hawaiian shirt! People love us! If your instrument  lives in the closet, be there around 9:00 to come pick it up!

Later that day…

6:17pm  Men’s Volleyball vs. UCLA–MEET AT RIMAC ARENA
Just because they’re UCLA doesn’t mean they know how to play volleyball! Come out to one of the last volleyball games of the year!

What a cool week!

Welcome to Spring Quarter

Apr-1-2010 By Caleb

Hey everyone, spring quarter is officially here! As you may know, that means we’re winding down on athletic events and gearing up for DAVIS!!! You have just over two weeks left to get your costumes ready! I advise trying to make it to as many events as possible to help prepare for the epic battle of the bands to make sure you know all the songs. If you’re ready to be super awesome, you can even try practicing songs from the book and memorizing the Davis Intro.

Remember that our only gig this week is Women’s Water Polo on Saturday, early in the day at 3:13pm. Make sure to show up and help cheer our ladies on!

What’s up tonight?

Mar-6-2010 By Caleb

So tonight we are going to go down to old town and eating amazing 50 cent flour tortillas from the tortilla stand outside of Cafe Coyote, and then we are getting some delicious Cold Stone ice cream :) It’s going to be fun, you should all come!

There will be rides from Sun God at 7:00pm. If you can drive, bring your car. See you all there!

What’s up this week?

Feb-28-2010 By Scott

Tuesday, March 2nd
6:31p  Women’s Basketball vs. CSU Dominguez Hills–CCAA TOURNAMENT!!! Meet at RIMAC Arena
You heard right! Instead of rehearsal, we have the VERY LAST basketball of the season, and it’s the first round of the conference tournament! The call time is 6:31p, so if your class gets out at 6:50p, still come over. We need you and the team needs you! Remember to wear your blue shirt under and hawaiian shirt over, as this is a conference game and we need to be in uniform. Exciting!!

Friday, March 5th
5:21pm  Women’s Water Polo vs. Santa Clara University–MEET AT CANYONVIEW POOL
Our first Women’s Water Polo game of the year! Let’s show them how it’s done. Remember to bring a towel!

Yo-ho

Feb-16-2010 By Caleb

For those that aren’t keeping up with their e-mail, rehearsal tonight is now a basketball double header. We were specifically asked to be at the women’s game tonight, so if can come early please do!

Later this week will be our annual Pirate Night! Break out the eye-patches, wooden pegs and cutlasses and show off your finery as we yell curses at the land-lubbers from BYU.
