What’s up tonight?

Mar-6-2010 By Caleb

So tonight we are going to go down to old town and eating amazing 50 cent flour tortillas from the tortilla stand outside of Cafe Coyote, and then we are getting some delicious Cold Stone ice cream :) It’s going to be fun, you should all come!

There will be rides from Sun God at 7:00pm. If you can drive, bring your car. See you all there!

Yo-ho

For those that aren’t keeping up with their e-mail, rehearsal tonight is now a basketball double header. We were specifically asked to be at the women’s game tonight, so if can come early please do!

Later this week will be our annual Pirate Night! Break out the eye-patches, wooden pegs and cutlasses and show off your finery as we yell curses at the land-lubbers from BYU.

The calendar for tonight was wrong. Here’s what Scott said in his email about tonight (cause once again, I’m too lazy to type something of my own):

Tuesday, December 1st
7:00pm–UCSD Pep Band Recording Session!
Our first recording session in a few years, meet at the new music building (CPMC–across from Gilman Structure/Pepper Canyon Hall) in room 127 at 7:00pm! If you can’t come until 7:50, still swing over, we’ll be playing for a long time…

Hope to see you there!

** Edit: New and improved event posting for tonight, now even less wrong than after Zack “fixed” it ;)
*** Edit: Zack can’t post events. Blame Roze.

More Momentous Moment Messages

Nov-18-2009 By Caleb

*EDIT* Times changed for when we’re leaving on Friday

For those that missed or weren’t paying attention at Rehearsal, here’s what the week is looking like:

  • Thursday The first match is at 2:30pm. Since not enough people were willing to skip classes we’re not officially going to this game, but if you have the free time feel free to drive up and support the team.
  • Friday: The next game will be either 5:00pm or 7:00pm. We’re planning on the game being at 5, so we’ll be leaving from campus starting at 1pm. We should have cars leaving later at 2pm and 3pm. If you need a late ride, send a message out to chat to coordinate! Make sure to bring a few dollars to help pay for gas for those that volunteered to drive.
  • Saturday: Since we all know our team is gonna kick ass, the final game is going to be at 7:00pm. We’ll be leaving campus around 4:00pm, which means you should show up to the loading dock around 3:50. Again, bring a few dollars to support your friendly vehicularly enabled pepbander.
  • Sunday: Is our annual holiday dinner (moved from Saturday because or volleyball team is awesome). It’s at 7:07 at Sean/Lisa/Sarah’s apartment. Potluck style, claim your dish on the appropriate mailing list. Don’t forget this is semi formal. if you show up in a T-shirt and jeans prepare to be mercilessly taunted.

This Is The Moment!

Nov-16-2009 By Zack

Hey everyone!  Thanks for coming out to the Volleyball games this weekend.  It’s been so much fun watching them do so well, and I know that the team really appreciates us being there.  This coming weekend we’re going to be heading up to San Bernardino to cheer on the team at regional championships.  We really want to have a great turnout, so clear your schedules!

Here’s Scott’s email about the events for this week, week 8:

Monday, November 16th
10:01am  International Education Week–MEET AT CORNER OF GILMAN AND MEYERS
We’re playing in our first on-campus parade in a long time! Come out if you don’t have class then, or even if you do! It’s going to be a blast, and not much time commitment.
Tuesday, November 17th
7:46pm  Week 8 Rehearsal–MEET AT RIMAC GREEN ROOM
We’re getting closer and closer to the recording session…come help polish up our best tunes!
Thursday, November 19th
12:00pm Human Peace Sign–MEET AT Sun God Lawn
Who doesn’t love peace? We’re going to be there to make the human sign dance!
***IMPORTANT***
Our Women’s Volleyball team has made it into the NCAA Western Regionals! Hooray! What does that mean for us? We’re going with them!

Where? CSU San Bernardino
When? This Thursday, Friday, Saturday
How? Details TBA
So, keep your Thursday, Friday and Saturday afternoons/evenings open–even if you can’t make one of the nights, we’ll probably be going to all three!

We’ll get more details at practice Tuesday night!

Oh, and also:

The Team Loves Us

So our volleyball team lost this weekend :( Let’s all make sure to show up at the games this weekend to help make sure that doesn’t happen again! Games are this Friday and Saturday, same time same place.

Since our volleyball team is kicking ass, they should be going to regional finals which is next weekend! We’re not sure where it’s being held yet, so check the website for updates. If it’s in San Diego, we’ll likely be rescheduling the Holiday Dinner. Make sure to keep an eye on your e-mail and/or the website for updates.

Last but not least, make sure to show up to rehearsal this week so we can all perfect our skills, and hopefully have a good recording session at the end of this quarter! We’ll be discussing sectionals as well to see when everyone has time. See you all there!

What’s going on this week?

8:29a  Juvenile Diabetes Walk– Meet at RIMAC CLOSET (next to the green room)
**As quoted from Jason Wiese** Yes, it’s early.  Yes, we’ve done a few gigs this week.  Yes, you’d rather be sleeping.  Why should you come out?  This gig involves a free t-shirt and FREE FOOD!  Besides, we’re supporting little kids who have been diagnosed with diabetes.  You’ve got a whole lifetime of sleeping in, but some of these kids don’t have such a long lifetime ahead of them, so wake up and support them!  I promise we’ll be done early, and then you can go home and take a nap.
We’ve got a lot of gigs this week, so make it out to as many as you can! I guarantee you’ll have a good time!

Fools on Parade

Oct-18-2009 By Caleb

Quick run of events this week:

  • Chancellor’s 5K challenge: Started by Bob Dynes who was an amazing runner, watch Fox attempt to pretend she’s also a runner while pepping up the runners as they start the annual 5k.
  • Women’s Volleyball: Our team is kicking ass this year, and is ranked #1 in our region and #2 in the country for division 2 (I believe). Let’s help them keep up the winning streak by showing up and cheering them on!
  • BOO! Parade: Our first parade. Make sure you memorize some of the easy songs we play (Louie Louie, Gimme some lovin’ etc.) and make sure to throw together a costume! Rides will be arranged on Tuesday. Plan on being around the parade route (Near El Cajon & College) before 10am.
  • Movie Night: We have a ton of movies available, plus Rock Band & Beatles Rock Band. Sure to be a fun time! If you’re feeling a might peckish bring food to grill as well.
