Calling all pepsters! Throw down your summer coursework, jump out of your summer slump, and grab some sunscreen and your horns! It’s time for the annual Pride Parade!

This Saturday at 10:00 AM, meet down at Washington and Normal St. in Hillcrest for one of the most exciting parades of the year! Things are gonna be crazy though, so be sure to show up a little early so you don’t miss out on any of the fun!

11:01am  Revelle Annual Watermelon Drop–MEET AT UREY HALL, REVELLE

Once again, we’re finishing off the school year with the famous Watermelon Drop!  This event is so much fun!  The Revelle tradition of dropping a watermelon of a building and seeing how far it splatters means free watermelon for all, and our second to last gig of the year! We’ll be done by noon, so come on out even if you have class in the afternoon!

8:00pm  End Of The Year Bonfire!–Rides at Sungod

Turkey, fire, drinks, sand, and fun! A great way to finish off the school year before finals and graduation!

9:00am  Steps for Health Fair & Walk–MEET AT RIMAC CLOSET

We’re playing at the AMSA Walk this year, out in Normal Heights! SO–this means that we’re meeting in RIMAC at 9am to be over there (15 minute drive) to play by 10am. We’ll organize rides during rehearsal on Tuesday! It’ll be a short gig, so you can get back to the glorious 8th week studying right after!

Sunday, May 22nd

8:00am  Arthritis Walk San Diego–MEET AT RIMAC CLOSET

‘Tis the season of charity walks, and the Pepband is in high demand! This Sunday, we’ll be performing at the Arthritis Walk in Liberty Station (shortish drive) in the morning. Benefits: entertaining walkers, supporting a good cause, free food and swag. Cons: We’re only playing for about an hour. Once again, we’ll organize rides on Tuesday. It’s going to be a great way to close off the weekend, and the band is really appreciated at these events!

9:27am  UCSD Transfer Admit Day–MEET AT LIBRARY WALK, BOOKSTORE ENTRANCE

‘Tis the season of admit days! Transfer Admit Day is crucial for the Band’s recruitment and membership! Some of your fellow bands-people are transfers! We’ll be playing for an hour or so, and hopefully there will be more free food and popsicles!

****One more thing: If you haven’t already, sign up for the PEPBAND BANQUET! This is our big end of the year bash at a fancy restaurant with fancy clothes, prizes, awards and food! You’ll have a great time, and meet some great alumni too!***

10:29am  UCSD PEPBAND GOES TO DAVIS PICNIC DAY!!!

Meet at the loading dock outside of RIMAC with your instrument and your bags packed. The bus will be leaving promptly at 11am, so if you have a class from 10-11, drop off your stuff before class! Read The Big Davis Email that Matt sent out (another copy will be sent out) for details of the whole weekend!

5:14pm  Women’s Water Polo vs. Brown–MEET AT CANYONVIEW POOL

Our first Women’s Water Polo game! We’re meeting down at Canyonview Pool, unless it’s raining. You’ll get an update if that’s a possibility, though! If your instrument lives in Pepband storage, we’re meeting at RIMAC at 4:45pm. See you then!

Tuesday, March 1st

6:23pm  Women’s Basketball vs. Chico State–CCAA TOURNAMENT–MEET AT RIMAC ARENA

UCSD is hosting the first round of the CCAA Tournament, and our girls are at the top! So, instead of rehearsal, we’ll be playing at the FINAL home game of the year! Please note that the game starts at 7:00pm sharp, and we’re playing the National Anthem 5 minutes before. If you can make it out to this, it’s going to be a blast!

6:37pm  Men’s Volleyball vs. Pacific–MEET AT RIMAC ARENA

Bust out your peg leg, your treasure map and yer eye patch, it’s PIRATE NIGHT! We’ll pillage and plunder at the game, and then head to a swashbuckling social activity!

6:30pm  Men’s Volleyball vs. Stanford–MEET AT RIMAC ARENA

They think they’re so great, with their supposed “Division I” athletics and “World Class” academics. We’re going to show them how wrong they are! Come on out to this Saturday game; it’ll be a great study break!

It’s been a while since we’ve been to a Volleyball game, and the team just beat Stanford in a huge upset over the weekend! Come on out and let’s help keep the momentum!
